CACI announced as AWS Launch Partner for European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) delivering EU-controlled data and compliance

In this Article

CACI Ltd is delighted to announce it has been selected by Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an official launch partner for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a major AWS initiative designed to help organisations meet stringent European digital sovereignty, security, and compliance requirements.

This appointment further reinforces CACI – a global AWS Premier Tier Partner – as a trusted advisor for organisations looking to adopt sovereign cloud solutions while leveraging the scale, resilience and innovation of AWS.

The European Sovereign Cloud is purpose-built to ensure the highest levels of governance and assurance, making it particularly suited for mission-critical and highly regulated sectors such as public services, national security, defence, financial services, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. This is also essential in supporting large commercial organisations navigate regulatory landscapes, protect sensitive data, and maintain customer trust at scale.

Why are the AWS ESC Principles Important?

The AWS ESC applies the principles above in the European context, giving organisations absolute confidence that their data and operations remain under tight European control, while enabling innovation without compromise.

Key capabilities include:

  • EU-only operations: managed exclusively by EU-based personnel, ensuring governance and operational independence.
  • EU data residency: all customer data – including metadata – remains within the EU, supported by isolated service environments.
  • Independent European infrastructure: physically EU-based facilities with separate control systems including independent billing, security, and multiple Availability Zones for resilience.

What Being an AWS ESC Launch Partner Means for CACI Clients

CACI brings proven expertise in cloud transformation, security, and compliance. Becoming an ESC launch partner further enables CACI to:

  • Guide organisations through sovereign cloud adoption using AWS best practices.
  • Deliver secure and compliant solutions tailored to EU regulatory requirements.
  • Enable innovation without compromise, by combining sovereignty with AWS scalability and resilience.

To prepare for this milestone, CACI has invested in advanced training for its teams on AWS Digital Sovereignty competency and principles, ensuring clients receive expert guidance in planning, migrating to, and operating sovereign cloud environments.

Tracy Weir, Chief Executive of CACI Ltd, comments: “We’re proud to be named an AWS launch partner for the European Sovereign Cloud. This partnership reinforces our dedication to helping organisations across public and private sectors meet stringent sovereignty requirements, whilst leveraging the power of AWS. It also underlines our commitment to delivering excellence and best practice across every stage of AWS cloud adoption.”

This phased approach reflects AWS’s commitment to supporting European organisations with scalable, sovereign cloud solutions.

AWS has also committed €7.8 billion in investment in Germany by 2040 as part of this initiative, reinforcing its long-term support for European digital sovereignty and innovation.

CACI celebrates prestigious BIMA Awards win for easyJet communication strategy and service transformation

In this Article

We’re delighted to announce that the collaborative transformation of easyJet’s customer communications strategy has been recognised with a prestigious BIMA Awards in its competitive Travel & Leisure category.

The bronze award – presented by the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) in the UK’s longest-standing awards for innovation and impact in digital and tech – celebrates the delivery of a bold, scalable, customer-centric communications ecosystem. The work helping easyJet move closer to its vision of becoming “Europe’s most loved airline” by redefining how it interacts with travellers across all marketing and service touchpoints, especially during travel disruption scenarios.

“These best-of-breed tools will pave the way for real-time, customer-centric communications at easyJet, making us one step closer to “making it easy for our customers”, by delivering a unified view of the customer enabling the orchestration of marketing and service comms across numerous markets.” Senior Programme & Project Manager, easyJet

easyJet’s challenge: fragmented, inconsistent communications

Like many travel businesses, easyJet faced a common significant challenge: fragmented, siloed legacy systems, inconsistent, impersonal messaging and customer experiences, particularly around travel disruption scenarios – when uncontrollable factors like weather or delays impact passenger experience. All of which were impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency: the airline estimated poor disruption communication alone was responsible for £98 million in annual losses. To tackle all these issues, easyJet partnered with CACI to lead a transformation of its entire communications ecosystem.

Taking a system-wide approach through human-centred service design

CACI led a comprehensive, multi-stream service design programme, beginning with a full MarTech and strategy audit. This included 17 collaborative workshops with over 25 stakeholders across departments to identify key gaps in technology, data, and operations.

Leveraging these deep human and technical insights, we then undertook work around data strategy and architecture, marketing contact strategy for general campaign optimisation, disruption communication and customer journey mappings.

Activating a customer-centric strategy built on real-time data

Transforming strategy into operational value for easyJet was at the heart of our work. This saw us define scalable customer data foundations built on behavioural and demographic customer insights, and build a real-time, event-driven, personalised communications platform in a complex MarTech implementation that integrated more than 10 systems, enabled 200+ behavioural data points and migrated 40million-plus customer profiles.

With disruption communications a critical part of the wider transformation strategy, we also designed a new end-to-end customer journey blueprint for disrupted travellers and delivered a comprehensive toolkit containing more than 200 actionable recommendations, covering customer experience improvements from self-service and front-line tooling to service resolution capabilities like welfare and baggage handling.

Internal teams were also empowered and equipped to manage the new platforms and collaborate cross-functionally: positioning easyJet to lead the airline industry in disruption comms.

The results? Transformative, sustainable marketing and operational efficiency gains

The programme delivered immediate commercial success, validating CACI’s service design and scalable framework.

Clearer, more empathetic messaging during disruption, reduced refund requests, improved CSAT scores, and enhanced campaign performance — including a 21% increase in click-through rate and more than double the revenue per email during their major Winter Sale. This work helping easyJet build long-term trust and lead the category in customer-first disruption management.

The programme also empowered internal teams with better tools and strategies embedded into the scalable future-proof communications framework – resulting in a lighter operational and carbon footprint that helps meet easyJet’s corporate sustainability goals.

Ananya Sadera, Senior Vice President, Experience & Transformation at CACI, reflects on the BIMA Awards win for easyJet:

This BIMA Award is a testament to the dedication of the CACI and easyJet teams. By aligning data, technology, and strategy, we have delivered a transformative communications ecosystem that not only drove exceptional marketing ROI and set a new standard for disruption communications in the airline industry.”

This award-winning programme shows what’s possible when service design, data, and technology come together. If you’re exploring a similar transformation or want to learn more about our collaborative approach, get in touch, we’d be happy to discuss how we can help you deliver meaningful impact.

Highly commended – Best Customer Centric Strategy – Revolutionising easyJet’s communication ecosystem

easyJet’s collaboration with CACI reimagined its disruption communications strategy and MarTech ecosystem to put the customer firmly at the heart of every interaction. Using a human-centred approach and deep behavioural and demographic insights, the project delivered a scalable, real-time communications platform supported by a new end-to-end journey blueprint and a toolkit with over 200 tactical recommendations for disrupted travellers.

The result? Clearer, more empathetic messaging during disruption, reduced refund requests, improved CSAT scores, and enhanced campaign performance — including a 21% increase in click-through rate and more than double the revenue per email during their major Winter Sale. This work helping easyJet build long-term trust and lead the category in customer-first disruption management.

Shortlisted – Best Use of Innovation in Customer Engagement Award – Supporting frontline officers and transforming victim experience for the College of Policing

CACI’s collaboration with the College of Policing on the Operation Soteria project delivered a pioneering Progressive Web App that gives frontline officers secure, real-time access to national guidance on rape and serious sexual offence investigations (RASSO) — even in low-signal, high-pressure environments.
Designed with officers, legal experts and DEI specialists, the intuitive, inclusive app uses AI-powered natural language search and role-based filtering to deliver verified answers instantly. It’s shaping how policing guidance is accessed — removing friction, improving consistency, and empowering officers to act with assured, trauma-informed victim sensitivity.

Making an impact on customer and employee experience

Across these projects, one theme stands out: the need for great human experience is universal.
Whether helping an airline communicate during disruption, enabling police officers to access critical guidance, or transforming graduate recruitment for inclusivity, CACI delivers solutions that combine strategy, technology, data and human insight. We don’t just build platforms — our specialists build confidence, clarity, and connection fit for tomorrow’s world.

“This winning recognition is a testament to the power of co-creation, empathy, and innovation. We’re so proud of this recognition and grateful to our clients – Civil Service Fast Stream, easyJet and the College of Policing – for trusting us to deliver change that matters. CACI unveils bold new brand direction under new CEO Tracy Weir

In this Article

Following the appointment of Tracy Weir as President and Chief Executive, CACI is proud to unveil a bold new brand direction that reflects the company’s evolving identity, renewed ambition and commitment to shaping tomorrow’s world.

Tracy’s promotion marked a pivotal moment for CACI. With over two decades of experience in leading the commercial business, she has helped transform CACI into a powerhouse of marketing, data and digital innovation. Now, under her leadership, the company is embracing a refreshed brand positioning that captures the spirit of transformation, clarity, and impact.

“Our expertise in data and technology is central to everything we do,” said Tracy Weir. “This brand evolution is about more than just how we look – it’s about how we think, how we work and how we deliver value to our clients and communities.”

A brand built for the future

At the heart of the refresh is a new brand framework that redefines CACI’s vision, mission, and purpose:

  • Vision: To build real solutions for tomorrow’s world and the people who live in it.
  • Mission: To drive transformative solutions using the power of specialists, data and tech.
  • Purpose: We believe that data and technology have the power to change the world.

These statements aren’t just aspirational – they’re actionable. They reflect the company’s deep expertise, its people-first approach and its belief in the power of innovation to create seismic shifts in business and society.

Three pillars of progress

CACI’s new brand is anchored in three core pillars:

  • Humanising data and AI – Making data meaningful, accessible and ready to inspire bold moves.
  • Building for tomorrow’s world – Designing smart, scalable solutions that connect people, places and possibilities.
  • Specialists in the art of getting it right – Delivering with precision, passion and deep expertise.

These pillars guide how CACI shows up for clients, how teams collaborate internally and how the company continues to lead in a rapidly changing landscape.

A culture of clarity and confidence

The brand refresh also includes updated visual and voice guidelines, a new tagline “Do amazing things with data” and a suite of straplines that reflect CACI’s personality and promise. But more importantly, it signals a cultural shift.

Tracy’s leadership has placed renewed emphasis on inclusion, learning and innovation. The brand now reflects a workplace where people are empowered to grow, contribute and make a difference – while staying aligned to a clear, confident identity.

“We’re building scale in our distinctive areas of expertise,” Tracy said. “And we’re doing it by investing in our people, expanding internationally and staying true to what makes CACI special.”

Looking ahead

With operations now spanning the UK, Netherlands and India – and a client base that includes hundreds of leading organisations – CACI is poised for continued growth. The refreshed brand is a signal to the market: CACI is ready for what’s next.

This is more than a rebrand. It’s a recommitment to excellence, a celebration of expertise and a bold step into the future.

Movember at CACI: No man eats the same stew twice

In this Article

When grief feels like fear

“It’s terminal” is never a good phrase to hear – unless it’s followed by a number like 1, or for those of you who collect Avios points, Terminal 5. But these were the words said to me back in 2015, not by an air steward but by my mum, who was battling cancer at the time.

That moment changed my life. And in the years since, I’ve learned that grief doesn’t just end when someone dies – it evolves into something else entirely. This November, I’m growing a moustache for Movember. Not for the questionable facial hair, but because men’s health matters, and too many of us still struggle in silence. If I can write this and help at least one person speak to someone or reach out for help, then it’s all worth it.

Many people are surprised to learn that I suffer from anxiety. How can someone who appears confident have anxiety?

Well, I’ve spent a long time trying to understand where this anxiety comes from, and C.S. Lewis gave me an answer I wasn’t expecting. He wrote, “No one ever told me that grief felt so much like fear.” When I first read that, it made sense. Because that’s exactly what it felt like after losing my mum. The grief didn’t just make me sad – it made me afraid. Afraid of losing someone else. Afraid of forgetting. Afraid of saying the wrong thing, doing the wrong thing, not being enough. That fear didn’t stay contained to big, obvious worries. It seeped into everything. Now I sit at night and ponder about something I said two weeks ago – critically analysing every single way it can be interpreted, mentally running different scenarios in my head and then working out how many of them are bad. I know it sounds excessive. It is excessive. But it happens most weeks.

The way I’ve dealt with this has ranged from screaming at the top of my lungs in my garden to seeking therapy to medication like sertraline – all with varying degrees of success. The screaming was surprisingly good for short-term relief, but I wouldn’t recommend doing it in the office. The point is, there are many ways to manage mental health – and here at CACI, we’re fortunate to have mental health first aiders who are trained to listen and support colleagues who might be struggling. It’s one of the many resources available to help us look after ourselves and each other.

Films, grief, and crying

I’m not afraid to say I cry. God, I quite enjoy it sometimes. In the same way that after a Sunday league game you stretch to alleviate the inevitable strain, I sometimes watch a film to alleviate pent-up emotion that creeps up on you or that you neglect. There are many films I love, but certain ones I only watch when I need a good cry – and these films tend to be thematically consistent. Grief.

One of these is Coco. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a Pixar film about memory, family, and what happens when we forget the people we’ve lost. There’s a song in it called “Remember Me” – about keeping someone alive through memory and through simply not letting them fade away. When you lose someone, especially someone as fundamental as a parent, there’s this quiet terror that creeps in. Not just the grief of them being gone, but the fear that one day you’ll forget. You’ll forget the exact way they laughed, or how they said your name, or the specific advice they gave you that one time. I still have backed-up voicemails from 2015 of my mum giving me a rollocking for staying out too long. I’ve never deleted them. Sometimes I listen to them – not because I enjoy being told off, but because I need to hear her voice. I need to remember that she was real, that she was here, that she cared enough to worry about me stumbling in at 3 am. Those mundane, annoying, everyday moments? They become sacred when they’re all you have left. That’s what gets me about Coco. It’s about this reminder that love doesn’t end when someone dies. It transforms. It becomes the stories you tell, the voicemails you can’t bring yourself to delete, the way I now end every phone call with “I love you” because they can’t anymore. And that transformation isn’t something that happens once and you call it a day.

Rebuilding yourself

There’s a quote from About Time that stays with me. Tim’s dad talks about playing every day as if it were an ordinary day, and then playing it again, knowing it’s his last time. The essence is about living each day twice: once normally, and once with the awareness that it might be your last time doing something so ordinary and beautiful. That awareness, it’s something grief forces on you whether you want it or not. And once you have it, you can’t go back to who you were before.

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross wrote: “The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal, and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again, but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same, nor would you want to.” And she’s right. I’m not the same person I was before 2015. Back then, I was worrying about packing a Team of the Season on FIFA – I apologise that this reference is probably more relatable to people of a certain age. Now I have a moustache and work a 9-5 in Location Analytics.  The anxiety, the overthinking, the need to tell my family I love them every single time we speak – these aren’t flaws to fix. They’re part of how I’ve rebuilt myself around the loss. That need to say “I love you” – it comes from a specific place. I never used to tell my dad, my sister, my mum that I loved them – or maybe I did, but not often enough. When you lose someone, there’s always a part of you that questions whether you loved them enough. So now, whenever I speak to my dad or my sister, I tell them I love them. Because you never know when this privilege you take for granted will be ripped away from you.

Why Movember is important?

There’s an old saying: no man eats the same stew twice, for it’s not the same stew and he’s not the same man. That’s what Movember means to me. You can grow a moustache each November, but you’re never quite the same person growing it. Times change, grief changes you, and the moustache is just the visible part of that transformation.

Movember at CACI

My name is Jake Chase and I’m an Associate Consultant in the Location Analytics team at CACI. I’m really proud to be leading on organising and running activities this month for Movember and we’re doing more than just growing a mean moustache. We’re creating spaces to actually talk – whether that’s over coffee in the morning or at a Thirsty Thursday (drinks at the end of the workday in our office kitchen). Because sometimes the most important conversations happen when you’re just sat with a brew, not trying to fix anything.

If you’d like to support the cause, you can donate to our team.

Standing Firm in Power & Pride: What it means to me

In this Article

Introduction

Roots & inspiration

For me, that pride begins with my roots.

My mother has always been my greatest inspiration. She came to the UK in the early ‘90s hoping to create a better life, leaving behind her family, everything familiar and putting herself through education as a mature student, all while raising my siblings and me. I watched her build and embrace a community around her, encouraging and uplifting those who shared similar journeys and finding strength in unity. That sense of community has shaped who I am today, both personally and professionally.

I see that same spirit reflected in women like Kimberly Bryant, founder of Black Girls Code, who created a platform to empower young Black girls in tech and bridge the diversity gap in STEM. Her work represents the very essence of standing firm in pride: using her success to create access and opportunity for others. Her story resonates with my own aspirations: to one day create opportunities and open doors for others like me, helping them navigate and thrive in the corporate tech world.

Likewise, Martin Luther King Jr. has long been a source of inspiration for me. His dream was not only about racial equality, but also about unity, justice and collective empowerment— principles that continue to shape the world we live and work in today. His courage to speak truth to power reminds me that using our voices matters, even in everyday moments. Standing firm, for me, means doing exactly that: holding space for myself and others in a world where representation still matters deeply.

My career journey

My career path hasn’t been traditional. I didn’t study computer science at university, and I entered the tech world later than some might expect, but that has become one of my proudest strengths. It means I can relate to others who take non-linear paths and show that there is power in forging your own way.

Moments of pride for me aren’t just promotions or milestones, they’re the everyday choices to speak up, take on challenges outside my comfort zone and mentor others.

I still remember the first time I attended a networking event for Black professionals in tech. Walking into that room and seeing hundreds of people from various backgrounds supporting, mentoring and encouraging one another was transformative. I realised that when we come together — united and visible — we don’t just change perceptions, we create new possibilities.

That moment also changed how I saw myself in corporate spaces. I stopped questioning whether I belonged and started seeing every room as an opportunity — to contribute, to represent and to pave the way for those who would come after me.

Community & advocacy at work

At CACI, I’ve made it a point to connect with other Black colleagues and minority professionals I’ve met along the way. Together, some of us have created an informal network to check in, encourage and share our experiences. It’s a small act, but it has a big impact — reminding us that we are not alone. That shared sense of community mirrors what I learned from my mother: that strength multiplies when it’s shared.

Advocating for myself and others has become central to how I navigate my career. Representation and authenticity go hand in hand, and leadership — real leadership — means helping others feel confident enough to bring their full selves to the table. It’s not just about speaking up, but showing up in a way that inspires and empowers.

For me, diversity isn’t just about representation. It’s about recognising the richness in our differences. As Black people, we are not all the same. My experience as a young Black woman from South West London will differ greatly from that of a middle-aged Black man from Europe. Creating true diversity means valuing voices from all walks of life, each carrying a different story, a different wisdom and a unique understanding of pride and power.

When we make space for these perspectives, we open ourselves to deeper understanding, empathy and innovation. Every authentic voice contributes to the strength and resilience of our communities and workplaces.

What keeps me grounded is knowing that visibility matters. Every time we show up authentically, we challenge old narratives and create space for others to do the same. That’s what drives me — seeing others realise their own strength and knowing that we rise higher together.

A message to others

To younger Black professionals entering the corporate world: your journey is your power. Every experience — whether smooth or challenging — adds to your strength. Seek out community, embrace your individuality and never underestimate the value of your perspective.

To allies and leaders: continue to create spaces that don’t just include diverse voices but also listen, learn, and act on what you hear. Black History Month reminds us to reflect, reconnect and celebrate diverse voices — not just this month, but every day.

Standing firm in power and pride means honouring those who paved the way, standing tall in our truth and ensuring that the next generation can do the same with even greater confidence.

CACI partner with Verve Vero to launch Fresco Live

CACI today announced their partnership with Verve to launch Fresco Live - intelligent interactive personas that bring Fresco segments to life like never before.

Combining CACI’s market-leading data engine with award-winning Verve Intelligent Personas and Simulations (VIPS), the partnership transforms the Fresco segmentation into an always-on decision tool – enabling brands to embed customer voices directly into strategy, proposition and journey design.

Fresco Live is built around CACI’s 12 Fresco segments of the UK market. The Verve Vero platform transforms this data into a live, client-accessible simulation with four modes: Fresco Personas, which bring segments to life with empathy, narrative and emotional insight; Verve Enrichment, which dynamically enhances personas with regular cultural updates; Fresco Oracle, a conversational interface that recalls and summarises facts from across the full dataset; and Fresco Segment Experts, a new qual-quant research capability that generates detailed insights into segments, sub-segments and micro-segments.

“This partnership is a natural alignment of strengths,” said Andrew Coooper, Verve’s CEO and Founder. “By combining CACI’s deep expertise in data-driven customer understanding with our award-winning VIPS, Fresco Live will give clients a powerful new way to build relationships and act in real time.”

The partnership follows a 6-month proof of concept of high-quality simulations across 4 Fresco segments, built to allow the CACI team to test scenarios and make sharper strategic and communications decisions in seconds. The first retail financial service clients are now signing up for access to this augmented version of Fresco.

Daniel Parr, SVP of Consumer and Market Intelligence at CACI adds “CACI has a long-standing heritage in data and analytics, with decades of experience powering intelligent decision-making. Our data has always been at the heart of AI, fuelling models with rich, human insight. Through Fresco Live, we provide data and insight based in deep understanding of people and behaviours, helping our clients make sharper faster decisions across every customer touchpoint. Our partnership with Verve Vero is taking this forward with the client in mind, building in ease of understanding that makes the data more accessible than ever before.”

The launch of Fresco Live underscores both organisations’ commitment to empowering clients with tools that embed the customer’s voice directly into decision-making. Building on this foundation, the two businesses have started the build phase to apply this capability to Acorn – CACI’s flagship geodemographic segmentation tool – further broadening its reach and impact across the UK.

North Bristol Trust Partners with CACI for Swift and Future-Proof Power BI Migration

CACI is pleased to share the success story of the readiness package prepared for North Bristol Trust’s (NBT) Power BI tool migration.

North Bristol Trust (NBT) was tasked with migrating their existing reporting tool to Power BI within a specific timeframe while simultaneously futureproofing their service and optimising their data. To achieve this, they turned to their trusted partner, CACI, for support. NBT was confident in CACI’s ability to help them develop a comprehensive migration readiness package and conduct a reappraisal of their warehouse and reporting solutions, where commissioned audits could be presented back to their board.

David Hale, Assistant Director of Informatics at NBT, explained how the readiness package bolstered NBT’s creation of a compelling business case, noting it to be “one of the fastest approved capital cases I’ve ever experienced” with a turnaround time of around 10 days.

“By approaching this in the way that we have, we’ve enabled the navigation of one of the often-held assumptions within the public sector and the NHS that it’s hard to get things done, when actually, with a clear vision and exceptionally good outputs, we’ve been able to move at a pace, which is not normally expected to be the case in an NHS setting,” he explained.

CACI achieves notable milestones in our commitment to information security and data protection

CyberVadis has awarded Platinum status to CACI for our information security and data privacy measures, achieving an impressive score of 960/1000, versus a benchmark of 654. CyberVadis provide “expert analysis of an organisation’s cyber security capabilities, backed up by objective evidence, and then benchmark that score against the rest of their membership.”

CACI have also successfully completed a Tier-2 CyberGRX assessment. We were assessed as Mature overall, with high coverage in all five assessed areas of Strategic, Operational, Core, Management and Privacy. CyberGRX bring a “revolutionary approach to third-party cyber risk management. Using sophisticated data analytics, real-world attack scenarios, and real-time threat intelligence, we provide a complete portfolio analysis of your third-party ecosystem, helping you to prioritize your risks and make smarter decisions.”

Our CyberVadis and CyberGRX assessments can be shared with clients upon request, providing further details of the assessment results and reducing the workload on your due diligence teams.

CACI are also pleased to announce that our Information Security Management System (ISMS) has been successfully recertified and transitioned to the globally recognised and respected ISO/IEC 27001:2022 accreditation. CACI has been accredited to the ISO27001 standard since 2006.

CACI also continue to be certified to a number of other important security standards including:

Cyber GRX

TISAX, Cyber Essentials Certified Plus and Dataseal Accreditation Logos
  • Cyber Essentials Plus, the standard backed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) – the cyber security arm of the UK government.

Environment Agency to use CACI’s Cygnum solution to prepare for and respond to flooding and environmental incidents across England

CACI is delighted to announce that its Cygnum software will be used by the Environment Agency as a logistics planning tool to schedule its workforce and assets in the preparation of and response to incidents across England ranging from small pollution incidents to widespread flooding. CACI is delighted to announce that its Digital Forensics Laboratory has been granted accreditation by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 with compliance to the Forensic Science Regulator Code of Practice and ILAC G19. This accreditation signifies CACI’s commitment to providing compliant, quality assured digital forensics services to support Law Enforcement related industries.

This achievement is particularly significant in light of the Forensic Science Regulator’s Act 2021, which came into effect on 2nd October. The Act introduced a statutory requirement of compliance to the new ‘Code’ for Forensic Science Activities provided to the UK Criminal Justice System. The new ‘Code’ is crucial for ensuring the admissibility of robustness of evidence, and includes the requirement for accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for the digital forensic science activities provided by CACI from within their laboratory.

CACI’s Digital Forensics laboratory, situated in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, has been designed to match the capabilities of law enforcement digital forensic laboratories. This enables CACI to integrate seamlessly with their clients, minimising the impact of outsourcing digital forensic investigation services and maximising the benefit for the client. The team behind the laboratory consists of highly skilled professionals with extensive experience in the digital forensics field within Law Enforcement investigations.

Richard Cockerill, Operations Director of CACI’s Digital Forensics Laboratory, expressed his team’s excitement about the accreditation, highlighting their dedication and expertise. • Computer-Based devices – Acquisition
  • Computer- Based Devices – Processing and Analysis

All schemes are tailored to meet the criteria for accredited digital forensics (DF) laboratories operating in law enforcement. Participation rates during proficiency testing cycles have been consistently increasing.

This further evidences CACI’s commitment to supporting UK Law Enforcement with digital forensics and FSR Code compliance. The laboratory, based in Northallerton, was launched on 9th June and has been created to mirror the capabilities of law enforcement digital forensic laboratories, adhering to industry standards and employing the same tools and processes.

It took an 18-month process for the laboratory to be created, but it is now housed with industry-leading individuals with years of expertise across the digital forensics space.

The formation of the team was heavily influenced by the already-established counterpart in the United States, which has been providing exceptional service for the past decade, shown through various accomplishments and significant recognition.

CACI’s DF Laboratory’s Operations Director, Richard Cockerill, had this to say:

“We are thrilled to announce that CACI has received a recommendation from UKAS for ISO 17043 accreditation for our Digital Forensic Proficiency Test schemes. This achievement highlights the dedication and expertise of our digital forensics team. This accreditation significantly strengthens our ability to support Law Enforcement, particularly with the Forensic Science Regulator’s Statutory Code now in effect. With our robust capabilities and specialised expertise, CACI is well-positioned to deliver high-quality digital forensic investigation services to the UK criminal justice system. This recommendation from UKAS marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to excellence within the UK.”
