Here’s what the Property Consulting Group have been talking about this week…

Keeping up to date with the latest news and emerging trends in the retail, residential and leisure sector is key to supporting the project work we do with our clients. This means our team are constantly searching for relevant news stories, so we thought we would share some of the best ones we have been talking about recently with you.

1. Gregg’s and Asda partnership

Gregg’s go from one success to another- from new vegan ranges to new store formats. Both retailers focus on providing the best value for money, with their shopper profiles dominated by Striving Families and Struggling Estates, who are seen to be very loyal customer groups. PCG see this venture as one to watch! Read more.

2. Pop-up Primark store launches in Shoreditch Box Park

It’s interesting to see well established brands launching new initiatives in new formats, with a greater focus on their ethically sourced wellness range. Read more.

3. Sainsbury’s feeding the need of busy London commuters with new format

Sainsbury’s are meeting the demands of their young, affluent and time-poor shoppers, who typically visit on a convenient Basket Grocery Mission. Their new store format will display food on the front stand which changes depending on the time of day. Read more.

4. Liverpool ONE sees first regional opening of Penhaligons.

High end perfume brand launches first store outside of London. Penhaligon’s very high average spend of £86 (from CACI’s Shopper Dimension database) fits in perfectly with Liverpool ONE’s ever increasing premium offer. Read more.

5. Home Run House: Baseball based retail activity experience opens in Westfield Stratford
