Business Intelligence Consultant

About the Role

The Property Consulting Group (PCG) are challenged with reporting complex datasets and ideas to clients in a clear and digestible format to a wide range of non-technical users. We collect bespoke primary research data on many projects (e.g. shopper surveys) and need to stitch this data to proprietary datasets such as Acorn.  Increasingly this data transformation and data reporting is done through the use of BI dashboards. PCG’s success is founded on a culture of innovation and staying ahead of the competition, and is intrinsic to this role.

The role of Business Intelligence Consultant is to oversee all of the PCG data reporting process from data storage, data transformation and BI design and build. The individual will have a high degree of autonomy and will be responsible for PCG’s technical offering, designing and building dashboards in Qlik or Tableau, working with the client consultant team to identify new solutions and answer the client challenge of ‘so what’
The role is full service; a typical project could involve working with external suppliers to determine data format and structure on delivery, undertaking data transformation procedures and building and maintaining a BI dashboard to a client spec to allow clients to interrogate their data.

There are three key areas of responsibility:
• The individual will be responsible for maintenance and development of all existing databases and BI tools as well as identifying areas to innovate
• Responsible for working across departments to stay on top of developments in the wider business, work with the server and network team to manage client deliverables and data security, mentor and direct the data team
• Explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences
• As the role involves working with primary research data and client facing systems there are a large number of unknowns and the ability to understand and analyse data, solve problems, identify new ways of working and challenge preconceptions is essential

About You

• A highly motivated self-starter
• High level of proficiency using Excel including VBA, Alteryx
• Significant experience of data transformation
• Vast experience of using SQL, business intelligence and visualisation tools
• Degree in computer science, business Intelligence
• Ability to communicate to stakeholders and deliver technical and non-technical information
