IMPULSE ALN supports every stage of the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) journey, helping you to identify the needs of each individual early, enable effective support and provision for them and enhance the visibility of their journey. We have specifically designed an enhanced ALN system for 0-25-year olds in Wales, meaning that you can support every person’s ALN requirements through IMPULSE ALN.

This is a highly configurable module, meaning that you can use it for as much of your ALN processes as you need, from underpinning it in its entirety, to supporting your existing framework. IMPULSE ALN works interactively with the school, professional and parent portals, so that there is transparency across your process with professionals and parents alike, with all parties able to contribute to the journey.

Parents and professionals can access, contribute to and comment on the individual development plan (IDP) in collaboration with the school and others. They can be fully in touch with the decision and outcomes regarding their children directly through a secure portal.

The IMPULSE school portal enables schools to start and manage the process from the assessment request stage. Schools can build a plan in conjunction with others via a real-time communication and updating process, working in conjunction with the local authority, parent, professional and young person portals.

Views, contributions and comments are easily collected, reviewed and shared by professionals and families throughout the assessment stages. This leads to an agreed individual development support plan and provision compliant with the ALN code of practice.

Furthermore, IMPULSE ALN is multi-lingual, helping users communicate clearly in Welsh and English. It also provides the required returns to the Welsh government.
