UNIX Systems Administrator

Unix Systems administrator / Linux Systems Administrator / Unix Storage Administrator - City of London – Fulltime, Permanent position – Annual Salary up to £70,000 + benefits.

Minimum of 3 years and recent experience within the Financial Services / Banking industries.

Shift patterns are required for this role. You will be part of a team working on a Rota basis comprising of - 1 week of early shift (7am - 3pm), 1 week of late shift (11am - 7pm) and 2 weeks mid shift (9am - 5pm) Late shift expected to do overtime if emergency incidents arise.

CACI, an UK IT Services Company, is currently looking for an experienced Unix/Linux admin to work with a City based Investment Banking client of ours providing consultancy services and systems administration. The role involves day to day Administration for PRODUCTION/BAU critical systems and development projects.

Future work will include a move to Automation using Ansible and working with the business to enable a massive global data-warehouse project.

For this role you must have the following skills:

• Minimum of 3 years within and recent experience within the Financial Services / Banking industries background
• Extensive Linux (Redhat) and Unix knowledge, skills and several years commercial experience
• Satellite server
• Generic Scripting - any scripting language
• SAN Storage management
• Admin of clustered server environment

Desirable skills:

• Automation tools – Ansible scripting

• Regular Expressions (this is part of scripting)

• Netback up useful


• Veritas File System

• Veritas Volume Manager

• Administrator level knowledge of the Cronacle or other scheduling application.

• Quest Privilege Manager for Unix

• Quest Authentication Services

• Working knowledge of Cisco UCS or VMware

• Excellent customer facing skills and communication.
