About the Business Division

Within Integrated Marketing Group (IMG), our data science team supports the business by providing actionable data driven solutions. We work on a range of consultancy engagements for a range of major brands across all industries, as well as developing and selling our own analytics software, and our internal data products (Acorn, Ocean). We focus on using rigorous analytics and forward-looking techniques to deliver user-friendly insight and capabilities.

Examples of recent engagements include:

  • A range of customer segmentation projects, combining clients’ internal data with CACI datasets such as Ocean to provide increased business insight
  • A range of analytics projects, from propensity modelling to attribution modelling
  • Ongoing development, marketing, sales, training, and support on CACI Forecaster – class leading time series forecasting software built completely in house
  • The data science team is looking for a new member to work on a range of projects, applying a creative data driven approach using the latest techniques and tools.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that specialises in marketing analytics. The successful candidate will be joining a team of 12 based in Kensington, and will be involved with delivering bespoke project work, both off and on-site. We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience of analysis in a marketing environment, with knowledge of SAS and either R or Python languages and libraries.

We work closely with the sales teams and account managers, and you would be expected to support these teams from a technical point of view. Analytics projects are often highly bespoke, and we are looking for someone who can come up with creative solutions to our clients’ problems. These solutions may be highly technical, but need to be explained simply and be easy to use in order to provide real business benefits to our clients.

Key Requirements

  • Develop an in depth understanding of CACI data and in-house systems
  • Help create and deliver a wide range of bespoke analytics projects and tools using a range of different environments, languages, and machine learning techniques
  • Help to maintain and improve our analytics capability, through a collaborative, code sharing environment
  • Support the Director of Data Science with proposal writing, presenting at pitches and coming up with innovative solutions

Throughout you would be expected to work with a range of teams, from sales to account managers and application developers, and with a wide range of clients of different levels of seniority and experience

About You

  • Proven demonstrable experience in a data-driven marketing environment
  • The creativity and technical knowhow to be able to develop and deliver analytically rigorous yet easy to use solutions

  • Degree or postgraduate study in a numerate discipline
  • An interest in implementing or developing novel machine learning algorithms and techniques, and applying those on customer engagements
  • The willingness to take on a range of roles, from customer project work, to product development, to user training and supporting the sales team
  • An ability to communicate complex ideas in an approachable way
  • A good grounding in machine learning, predictive analytics and relevant experience in techniques from regression to clustering
  • Very good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience of at least one of R or Python
  • Knowledge and experience of using SAS
  • Critical thinking approach in being able to design new techniques and approaches, and critique and improve existing algorithms
  • Good writing and communication skills: proposals, training materials, documentation and user guides
  • The ability to work in a small team or independently
  • Nice to haves
  • Knowledge and experience of Alteryx
  • Experience in SQL and developing in VBA in Excel
  • Knowledge of simulation techniques
