Location Planning Analyst

About the Role

This opening is for an analytically minded graduate working within the Location Planning Team of around 20 analysts. It is a young and sociable team who are looking for a self-motivated person with a willingness to learn new skills and who is comfortable receiving a high level of responsibility from day one.

In the Location Planning Team, we work with companies from a broad range of sectors, both within the UK and internationally, including retail, leisure, automotive, CPG and the public sector on projects with timescales spanning from a few days to several months.

As an analyst you will be working closely with senior stakeholders within organisations solving their business problems such as: 

  • Who are our core customers?
  • Where are they located?
  • What is their demographic?
  • What drives a location’s performance?
  • How can we optimise our existing estate?
  • What new markets should we enter?

It is therefore essential that you can analyse and interpret disparate data sources using creative methods of data visualisation to draw meaningful conclusions for our stakeholders. You will be responsible for presenting your findings to senior audiences, so strong communication and presentation skills are also required.

  • Educated to at least degree level in a subject with an analytical focus
  • Problem solver who enjoys a challenge
  • Willingness to learn new skills and software
  • Highly numerate
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Good UK geography knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Dependable team player

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of any of the following software is a bonus but not essential as you will receive full training; SPSS, SAS, Tableau, Qlik, Alteryx, SQL, VBA.
  • Knowledge of any GIS or analytical software
  • Interest in the retail industry
  • Additional foreign languages would be useful
