GIS & Data Sales Consultant

About the Role

A new position has arisen for an ambitious GIS and Data Sales Consultant to join a small professional consultancy team within a large and growing organisation CACI. The Logistics sector is constantly evolving which presents never-ending opportunities to learn and bring expertise to help our clients. It is a fascinating industry and the products that you will be working with solve genuinely interesting and important real-world problems. The position offers a robust training plan to get you up to speed, you will be expected to develop a pipeline of sales activities for our worldwide mapping and data portfolio and Geoconcept and Geoxploit suite of GIS products.

Working in a small, professional consultancy team you will be expected to perform the following tasks:
• Work with CACI’s software solutions, on complex projects and present results in a professional manner
• Carry out the implementation of logistics solutions, on-site and remotely
• Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and customers
• Have fun, enjoy what you do and get a lot of satisfaction from your job

Key Requirements

  • Conduct outbound calls (including cold calling to researched targeted leads)
  • Achieve agreed personal targets with regard to
  • Profitability (we are measured on profitability and bonuses are based on this)
  • Sales turnover (overall and typical account values)
  • Market segments / product ranges
  • Response rates
  • Quality standards / corporate style / methods
  • Support the line manager in achieving team targets for the business each financial year
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records in customer and prospect contact management database (CRM) and reporting to management as required
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by email, post, telephone, Web Ex and personal visits
  • Maintain existing and new customers account support
  • Provide exceptional customer service, understanding the needs of your own customers and resolving any complaints
  • Reduce cost of sales by considering carefully before requesting assistance with unpaid speculative work such as ad-hoc pricing, samples, pre-sales consultancy etc, particularly where proposed sale is small or likely to offer low profitability /high risk
  • Demonstrate our product range at seminars and shows
  • Keep abreast of what competitors are doing
  • Contribute to team product development sessions
  • Use social media (posting news on DLG divisional news and interesting industry elated articles on Twitter, LinkedIn etc.
  • Provide Blog, Whitepaper or thought piece topics to write, or write yourself and provide to marketing dept. for finessing.

The Data Logistics team sit within the Location Planning Group at CACI. CACI is a leading supplier of digital map and data solutions for customers across the globe. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data and Logistics Group (previously known as Mapmechanics and acquired by CACI in November 2017), a small B2B team (approx 35 people), based in Brentford, West London. 

We own leading map-based optimisation brand Truckstops, a vehicle routing, scheduling and optimisation solution and Optisite for supply chain network distribution planning, modelling & analysis.
