Financial Services Consultant

Key responsibilities

The business intelligence solutions group require a financial services consultant to work within their financial services delivery team to implement activity based costing software and financial reporting solutions at our client sites.  The post holder will be required to interpret client needs, and to implement our software solutions to meet their requirements. 
Key responsibilities include;
  • Working with customer stakeholders to gather requirements to shape the delivery of financial and information solutions
  • Design of client’s financial models including activity based costing models
  • Plan and monitor projects to ensure successful achievement of milestones
  • Complete comprehensive documentation to a high standard including project plans, customer specific process guides and training documentation
  • Provide expert advice, support and training to client users 
  • Design and develop reports and dashboards

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent 
  • Able to communicate financial principles and models to both finance and non-financial stakeholders
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Good numeric reasoning ability 
  • Data analysis and report writing experience
  • Project management skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated to produce accurate work to tight deadlines
  • Articulate and able to communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Ability to evaluate existing business processes and recommend solutions
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, balancing and prioritising workload
  • Able to travel throughout the UK and must hold a full UK driving license

Desirable skills and experience

The following skills and experience are also desirable.
  • Experience working with a finance environment
  • Experience of working in a project delivery environment 
  • SQL skills and an understanding of relational data design
  • Consultancy experience
  • Knowledge of healthcare data, or experience within an NHS setting
