Data Services Analyst



Marketing Solutions Division

Key responsibilities 

This is an exciting opportunity for a technical analyst to join the Data Services Group at CACI, providing services to the Marketing Solutions Division of the company, based at our Kensington Head Office.
Data is at the heart of the company, and the Data Services Group are the experts on both the data used within and supplied by CACI, and many of the systems used to interpret these.
The team are responsible for the processing and release of CACI’s own data products, and also for third party data such as demographics, street mapping, administrative and postal boundaries and retail location data, both for the UK and worldwide. This involves:
  • Sourcing data from suppliers
  • Cleaning, verifying, reformatting and enhancing data using various software tools
  • Working alongside consultants in other departments to develop a range of data products
  • Applying innovative techniques to ensure our products and data assets remain relevant and market leading
  • Building databases and modelling systems for use in InSite; our proprietary Geographical Information System (GIS) and the repository for much of our data
  • Internal dissemination of data within the company, to drive applications across a wide range of sectors (e.g. retail, leisure, finance, health, local government, marketing)
  • Offering support and sharing information and knowledge to users across the company relating to the wide range of data we provide.
As such, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, production and internal delivery of datasets and products, as well as assisting users within the business in understanding and working with our data.
The role also includes providing software support for consultant analysts using InSite within CACI, and supporting our sales teams and account managers with data, mapping and report requests.

Core skills, knowledge, experience required

The successful candidate will have a degree (2:1 or above) in Mathematics or other numerate subject, and have the following attributes:
  • Proven experience in a data driven professional environment
  • A self-disciplined, and energetic person who works well under pressure and meets deadlines
  • A passion for problem solving, able to translate general requirements into specific actions
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Strong in attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player

Desirable skills and experience

The following skills and experience are also desirable:
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Programming experience using SAS  and/or C#
  • A keen interest in data and its applications for market analysis
  • Knowledge and experience of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software
