Content Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary purpose of the role is to create and maintain a group wide content library of boilerplate answers to increase the quality of proposals and formal tenders, and reduce the time it takes to create impactful documents.

As a new role this is an exciting opportunity to shape and create a content library that will be used by hundreds of colleagues. The Content Manager will report to the Head of Bid Management and will be jointly responsible for defining and optimising the content library to achieve the following objectives; relevance, accuracy, quality and availability.

With the CACI group comprising of a diverse range of Business Units (BUs), each with their own unique value propositions and P&Ls, the successful individual will need to be driven, creative, accountable and passionate about bids. The Content Manager role will be varied working across numerous BUs to derive content from key Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibilities include:

  • Design the architecture of the content library for the group and each BU
  • Work with each BU to embed a content library strategy and plan
  • Gather and cleanse existing content within BU silos across CACI
  • Assimilate, extract and enhance content through storyboards with SMEs 
  • Identify content gaps and proactively work with SMEs to ensure the content library is comprehensive
  • Write and re-write content into a defined style, ensuing that it is clearly articulated and easy to integrate into proposals and tenders
  • Create and maintain engaging content by using infographics and visuals
  • Work with the marketing department’s Graphics Designer as required to enrich content and maintain a comprehensive library of images
  • Schedule regular reviews of content to identify areas that need to be updated / expanded
  • Close the loop on content within the library by sourcing feedback from client debriefs carried out by BUs and proposals and tenders that have been submitted
  • Review the structure of the content library on a regular basis, to ensure that it reflects the needs of each BU and the group
  • Provide training (where required) to users of the content library and gather feedback on a regular basis
  • Proof read proposals and tenders on an ad-hoc basis and as part of the bid process (Red Review)
  • Assist the Head of Bid Management from time-to-time where new content is required for a proposal or bid by facilitating / leading storyboard sessions with SMEs 
  • Any other reasonable tasks.

This role is based at our head office in Kensington, but will also involve travel to other offices within the UK to liaise with SMEs. The role will also allow the flexibility to work from home (dependant on the candidate and as agreed with the Head of Bid Management).

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Skills:

  • Intermediate to advance capability with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong copywriting, editing, proofing, written and oral communications skills (English)
  • Ability to create impactful images from written content
  • Excellent attention to detail and drive for perfection
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and SMEs
  • Ability to identify and motivate SMEs to ensure commitment to updating content on a pre-agreed cycle
  • Exceptional project management skills with a get it done attitude
  • Confident in dissecting proposals and tenders to identify frequently asked questions for inclusion within the content library.

Knowledge:

  • Familiar with best practice bid management (tools and methodology)
  • Best practice in content creation and management
  • Industry leading content management systems.

Experience:

  • Implementing content library strategies
  • Designing and maintaining content libraries
  • Working within a complex and diverse sales environment
  • Working in a multi-layered business with focused divisions and business units
  • Working with a diverse mix of SMEs based nationally within the UK (face-to-face and Skype)
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar function (bid / sales / procurement / marketing).

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent [desirable]
  • A-Level in English [highly desirable]
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Accreditation [highly desirable]
  • Project management and marketing training [desirable].
