1. Shoreham Beach will be home to the next Boxpark

Hoping to put the small seaside town on the map, the mixed-use seafront project now has planning permission which will hold a multi-level café-restaurant, roof terrace, water sports centre and community space. PCG are excited to see this new seaside location adopt the ever more popular market hall concept. Read more on the new dining destination in West Sussex here.

2. U+I plan 1,500 new riverside homes and mixed-use zones on the Greenwich peninsula

There are plans for 11 tenure-blind residential towers including a mix of commercial, retail and community space. Read more on the proposed riverside development in SE10 here.

 

3. Its that time of year again: Selfridges reveal their “A Christmas For Modern Times” themed windows

As the first department store in the world to reveal for Christmas, each window has been designed as a re-imagined fairy-tale. 4. ASOS sales rose by 13% to £2.7bn in the year to 31st August despite the difficult year with IT chaos at overseas warehouses

Irrespective of the rising sales, profits at ASOS plunged by 68% and the company has said that it is due to the extent of discounts by rival online fashion retailers such as Boohoo. Read more on this story here.

The grocer is looking into their online presence and could soon introduce an online delivery service.

5. Living near green space and having ‘green views’ could increase the value of your property by around £4,000

Results were reported from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) providing information on those who are willing to pay more to live within 100 metres of green space. Read more on these statistics here.

8. The Hut Group launch an interest fee “buy now pay later scheme” just in time for Christmas

Available on purchases over £10, The Hut Group have partnered with payment tech firm ‘Clearpay’ offering the service to 54 online stores. Read more on the payment scheme here.

9. Banksy opens a display only pop-up store in South Croydon

Called ‘Gross Domestic Product’, the store features the stab vest worn by Stormzy in his iconic performance at Glastonbury and other items on sale for as little as £10.

London Cocktail Week

Taking over bars and venues across London from 4-13th of October, the 10th anniversary of ‘LCW’ saw brands and bar teams from around the world descend on the capital for one of the biggest parties of the year. Read more here.
