The Nottingham Research Observatory uses CACI for local economic analysis

The Nottinghamshire Research Observatory collates data and provides evaluative analysis of issues that affect the local and regional economy. The majority of the data they use is provided by partner organisations or from sites hosting national statistics, e.g. ONS.

One ongoing evaluation study concerns issues that affect housing estates within a local authority's area. While this 'estate development plan' was able to draw on socio-economic data that affects the quality of life within individual estates, reliable, consistent and up-to-date ward-based data on house price was unavailable.

The Nottingham Observatory used data from CACI including house price datasets, StreetValue. This unique dataset provides mean house price data, along with the predominate tenure and property type at postcode level (approximately 15 households), making it more applicable to local analysis than the Land Registry's postcode sector level data (approximately 2,500 households).

CACI's data has enabled The Nottinghamshire Research Observatory to gauge levels of deprivation, demand and supply for housing in these estates. This is a significant contribution and offers an invaluable insight into the analysis of the local area as a whole as well as a more detailed focus on its housing market.

"CACI's data has allowed us to examine the house prices of individual estates with the most relevant and up-to-date information available."
