Abbey
Abbey is one of the largest providers
of mortgages and savings in the UK. They wanted to undertake an appraisal of the
existing retail estate’s performance, a detailed review of their retail operation.
CACI’s expert consultants applied a decision tree approach to develop costed recommendations
for each branch based on combining performance and profit models with the Abbey’s
own performance indicators. Site-specific recommendations including closures, openings,
mergers, extensions, relocations and refurbishments were agreed with the sign off
of a £200million capital expenditure budget offering returns double the company’s
required internal rate of return.
