CACI's Environmental Policy

CACI is committed to minimising the impact of its day-to-day business on the environment. We have achieved the ISO14001 standard, which means that as a company, and as individual we are committed to achieving the following:

  • Compliance with all current legislation on environmental issues

  • Minimising waste and recycle waste materials. The disposal of waste materials is done in a safe manner to minimise any possible pollution of the environment

  • Where appropriate, installing energy management systems to minimise our energy consumption

  • Minimising the environmental impact of business and commuting travel through various initiatives (use of public transport, web-based meetings)

  • Encouraging the implementation of sound environmental practices throughout the company

  • We have appointed an environmental officer with specific responsibilities to communicate our environmental policy to employees and to encourage best practice

  • We will review our environmental policy at least annually to ensure a process of continual improvement

One of the forms of energy consumption that is easiest for us to address is the use of electricity and gas in the offices we occupy. Published in the download section is a summary of usage in offices where we have direct responsibility for the energy costs. Depending on the office, we are monitoring usage on either a monthly or quarterly basis.

We are interested in tracking not just energy use, but what is called Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions. This takes into account the amount of energy used to deliver the power we use, and varies across the different suppliers that we use. CACI is working on three goals, which are defined as 1 to 2%, year on year, reductions in:

  • Electricity and gas consumptions - for offices where we pay the energy bills directly
  • Scope 2 emissions - in offices where we pay the energy bills directly
  • Bulk photocopy use, per capita, for the Kensington Village facilities
