CACI helps Gwynedd Council win Social Care Accolades Award
The bi-annual awards are led by the Care Council for Wales and recognise excellence and outstanding achievement within the social care sector
24.06.11 - CACI is pleased to announce that its software has helped Welsh Local Authority Gwynedd Council become a winner at the prestigious Social Care Accolades 2011.
This year, a record number of entries were received, with Gwynedd Council achieving the award for Improving Welsh Language Provision on account of developing, in partnership with CACI, a unique bilingual care software package.
Gwynedd Council, who have used CACI's comprehensive care management software for several years, are committed to carrying out all business transactions in Welsh. To meet this goal, CACI worked with the Council to translate all care information in the software. As a result, Gwynedd's care workers, who use CACI's mobile solution inTOUCH to deliver care in the community, can now choose English or Welsh as their preferred language. This tool is the first of its kind and has transformed community social care by enabling bilingual care delivery.
Ollie Watson, Business Director at CACI said,
"With 69% of residents in Gwynedd speaking Welsh, here was a great example of a client challenging us to find a solution to a very real requirement. We're delighted that as a result our joint efforts have contributed to Gwynedd winning this accolade".
Ian Jones, Administration and Business Support Service Manager at Gwynedd Council added,
"We are thrilled to have won the award for Improving Welsh Language Provision. It is fantastic to be recognised for our efforts in achieving quality home care services and to share our experience with other Councils".
By disseminating this example of innovative best practice across Wales, Gwynedd Council hopes to help raise care standards and Welsh language provision throughout the country.
