UK Border Agency goes online for appointment bookings

Applicants seeking to extend or vary their leave to remain in the UK can now book their application appointments online using a system developed by EzGov Europe.

07.12.09. EzGov Europe, a CACI Limited company, today announced the successful completion of a project to provide the UK Border Agency with a new online appointment booking system.

The new system was commissioned by the UK Border Agency's ID Cards for Foreign Nationals (ICFN) programme to help reduce the pressure on call centre staff, process applications more efficiently and improve customer choice and service.

To date, the UK Border Agency has handled more than 30,000 online application appointments and has more than 50,000 registered users. The system was launched in September 2009 and developed in just 8 weeks to meet the UK Border Agency's business critical timeframes.

EzGov Europe will host the solution and provide ongoing support and system development as required.

Rob Carolan, Programme Director at the UK Border Agency said, "As a Government agency we have to continually improve our processes, make them more efficient and ensure best value. This system allows us to do this. It is a fast, simple and convenient way for customers to secure an appointment slot, allowing them to book a time that suits them, whilst allowing us to free up contact centre agents for other calls. The system has been a great success even after such a short space of time and has been a welcome improvement for our customers"

Commenting from CACI, Simon Tyrell, Director at EzGov, added: "We're delighted to be helping the UK Border Agency in improving customer service and reducing costs - two key challenges facing all government agencies. This is another example of how our online systems development expertise can make a real difference and we look forward to working with UKBA to further enhance their services."
