Salford Royal selects CACI solution to improve its health informatics service.

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust has chosen the InView management information system from CACI to improve clinical reporting and support the Trust's Quality Agenda.

InView, which utilises a SQL server data warehouse and BusinessObjects® web reporting, will be used by Salford Royal to support a number of informatics challenges, including the Quality Agenda, 18 week Referral to Treatment (RTT) and Payment by Results (PbR).

The system will be deployed across the Trust to create a single information repository integrating data from hundreds of database systems, including Clinicom Patient Administration, ICM Clinical Management, Radiology, Theatres and Commissioning. Utilising the BusinessObjects XI technology platform, InView will also provide clinicians, departmental managers and Trust executives with centralised self-service access to any number of reports and analyses that can be viewed quickly and easily through a secure web portal.

Commenting on the new system, Christine Walters, IM&T Director at Salford Royal said,
"Selecting InView was a strategic decision for the Trust. Not only does it allow us to access and analyse information more easily in order to improve service planning and patient care but it allows us to make a critical step forward as we move over to the National Programme. By bringing together industry leading reporting software from Business Objects and CACI's industry knowledge and technical expertise, this solution gives us everything we need to help us address current and future informatics challenges."

Commenting further, Graham James, Director at CACI said; "Salford Royal is a great win for our business and I am very pleased to be working with a Trust with such a good reputation in the NHS ICT world. The Trust is a real leader in the community of Clinicom users and to win this tender says a lot about our ability to work with large acute Trusts and offer solutions that integrate data from all the leading health technologies".
